SLP Energy Announces Submission of Planning Application for the Hawthorn Wind Farm ...
The proposal consits of three wind turbines and associated infrastructure, located on agricultural land located either side of the A19 Trunk Road, between the villages of Hawthorn, Cold Hesledon and Murton in County Durham.
Each turbine is proposed to have a maximum generating capacity of 2.5 Mega Watts. They would have a hub height of up to 60 metres and a rotor diameter of up to 90 metres, giving a maximum height to the blade tip of 105 metres.
A meteorological mast was erected in the site in November 2006 and has been gathering wind data since.
A Public Exhibition was held on 11th July 2007 at the Glebe Centre, Murton.
