In addition to its activities in wind farm development and contracting, SLP Energy maintains an active interest in alternative, less established marine renewable energy sources, such as wave and tidal.
Find out how SLP Energy has become involved
in a wide range of wave and tidal projects.
SLP Energy has set its sights on becoming a market leader within the wave and tidal industry and has been actively involved in a wide variety of projects and technologies. SLP also has minority stakes in companies developing new technologies. It is currently working with developers to:
- Identify and evaluate potential sites (commercial and pre-commercial)
- Act as expert consultants on offshore issues
- Prepare innovative foundation solutions
- Construct prototypes with a view to commercialisation
- Provide Clients with Engineering solutions
Currently, SLP Energy is in discussion with a number of potential partners to jointly develop and manage the execution of wave and tidal projects, throughout the UK. Furthermore SLP are developing novel foundation solutions under the grant-aided DTI Technology Programme.
Amongst its achievements, SLP Energy is playing a key role in the development of Tidal Generation Ltd's DEEP Gen projects (Deepwater Tidal Energy Prototype Generator).
